(August 24, 2020, 12:48 pm)Overall I believe that Portage is one of the best forms of treatment for substance abuse. It has a five star review as well as an 80% success rate for the residents who finish the program. I graduated Portage 3 years ago and I think it was the best decision I have ever made. They helped me discover my potential as a person and encouraged me to live my life to fulfill my purpose in the world. While I was there they taught me several different skills such as being organized, being objective as well as being self aware. I still use these skills in my every day life. After my Program I was given several different awards such as employee of the week and year at my job. I also had the opportunity to graduate college with a 96% academic average while receiving 3 different awards. After college I decided to volunteer at Portage and I also did a student placement there. It was an incredible experience helping the youth at Portage discover their full potential just like they helped me do when I was a young adult.
