As an avid angler, fishing all over Manitoba and Ontario this place stands out high above all other options. From the ease of access, unreal landscape, helpful and knowledgeable staff, amazing food, immaculate grounds with all amenities. And their is also some fishing available. From world class like, pickerel and bass this place delivers. 40 plus inch pike and 29 inch pickerel are regular occurrences with the odd 19 inch bass for good luck. Target a specific or go for them all. Excellent equipment, guides, and amazing vistas from the entire property make this place special. This is a dangerous unmarked area of the mighty and historic Winnipeg River System. Guides can point out certain areas where items from the 1500s can be found in place site such as arrowheads, housing structures and ancient fish catching structures. Make sure to bring the binoculars since the name Eagles Nest is truly the best name. Eagles will soar high above waiting for a free meal, or just cruising keeping a watchful eye on your whereabouts. Certainly the shorelunch is worth the break, with the lodge owners of the river sharing duties on maintaining these wonderful rest areas. Adventure awaits.

We enjoyed 4 days at Eagle Nest Lodge (June 12-15, 2022). The fishing was fabulous: Walleyes, Bass, and Northern Pike were plentiful. The historic lodge and trading post site date back 200 years. Today, the cabins and buildings are fully renovated and modern with traditional log architecture: cabins, dining room, lounge/games room. All were 5 stars. We were “locals” (4 couples from Winnipeg) visiting the lodge for the first time. We flew in a Beaver float plane to add to the wild adventure. It was world class fishing in your own back yard. Totally awesome! Big thanks to Jessica, Jay and team. Also, a big thanks to our fishing guide Dawson Doucet, who parked our fully equipped G3 boat over top the most active fish in the lake. He made it like a “TV” fishing show. Each day we enjoyed shore lunches and each evening a delicious meal in the dining room (pork ribs, chicken and roast beef). All superbly prepared by their chef. Three generations have owned and operated the lodge and the care, commitment and dedicated service are evident. Once more – a big thanks to all. We hope to come back soon and experience this world class lodge in our own back yard again.

This place is awesome! Where can you catch a master walleye, 30" plus pikes, and bass all in one day! We had a great guide, awesome food(you will never starve here). All the staff were on another level of awesome. The owners come by and make sure you are enjoying your stay, not many do. Thumbs up 👍and perfect place to do your next fishing adventure!

I do not usually write reviews but I felt I had to after our corporate trip to this lodge. We took a group of our customers to Eagle Nest Lodge as a thank you for their business. From the time we arrived at the landing right up until the time we left we were treated to one of the best overall experiences I have ever encountered. I have been on many fishing trips with groups and this is the best yet. The fishing is good especially considering it was August, not generally the best fishing time of the year. Our guides were fantastic and the shore lunch they prepared made the whole trip experience amazing. What a well oiled machine and the staff as a whole are friendly, helpful and welcoming.

We will be back and I will highly recommend Eagle Nest Lodge to anyone and everyone.

    Thanks Jessica and Team,

On behalf of all 10 of us

    Great Job

    See you next June

    Jeff
