  Food is great but the service is either non existent or way too much. And I agree with the post about the staff standing around and complaining about the customers. There have been at least 40% of the time where it is not busy at all and there is a group of servers standing to the side talking. They see us but continue to talk. I have waited up to 5 min for them to stop and find us a seat. The one time I interrupted them and asked if we could just seat ourselves the service was absolutely horrible. I would never go to the Chicken Chef on Portage but its my dad's favorite place for chicken so I only go when I have to because I'm with him. A few years ago the place ran so smooth, great food, great service, fast and hot and great portions. Now new owners have downsized the portions, upped the prices and either they keep no manager around to keep the staff in line or the manager is just as bad as the staff. All the other Chicken Chef restaurants I've been to have all been wonderful and if there was another one close to us I would definitely be going there. Sorry to those who disagree. I'm going there tonight so its been a while since I've gone so maybe things have changed. I will comment if its better.

  Food is consistently good. Good portions. Always served hot. Staff is excellent and courteous. Prices are reasonable considering the hefty portions. Sometimes they close a bit earlier than posted time.
