Backeddy Resort & Marina

Its not a five star hotel but we found it to be clean and really comfortable. Everyone we came across was very pleasant. We ate at the marina's pub, and it was very good. To top it off we hiked to the Skucumchuk(spelling) narrows. What a awesome sight, even saw seals body surfing the waves.

We stayed in one of the waterfront couples units. Fantastic view along the water. During off season there are limited options for food so be sure to plan ahead. A highlight of the trip was the bioluminescent kayak tour we booked through the resort. Our guide Greg was excellent.

We stayed in the Small Vintage cabin (Unit 1, pet- friendly). Lovely setting on front of water . Very small, basic, rustic. Clean. Beautiful, peaceful, tranquil setting and location.
Staff is excellent but insides of cabins need updating. Staff work very hard keeping place running well.
The downside that may prevent us coming back would be mattress that is way overdue for replacing.
Springs are showing and poking into our backs. 3 nights of uncomfortable sleep!
Keurig coffee pods terrible if you're a coffee drinker. Thanks to Hamish who offered better coffee at check-in office!
Thanks to Kathleen and Hamish for wonderful hospitality and friendly service. We enjoyed the atmosphere and beautiful location. Hopefully some updates soon!

The water cabin was awesome with full view of the marina and the ocean. The cabin was nice, cosy, neat and well contained. However, we did notice that our comforter was stained (not sure exactly what it was), we informed the office and unfortunately they did not change it for our second night. That was disappointing considering we paid $250/night.

Truly enjoyed our stay at the large pet friendly vintage cabin with our dogs Leo (85 lbs goldendoodle) and Go-Go Bruno (13 lbs chihuahua). The bioluminescence night kayak tour guided by Greg Rushton was amazing. Paddle boarding with our pets was fun. Steelhead tacos served at the Blackeddy pub were delicious. Kathleen and the staff were quite pleasant. A nice bonus were the sightings of curious seals swimming near Leo while he was enjoying a swim.
