(October 19, 2021, 4:35 pm)I wanted to leave Vancouver for a peaceful getaway to recharge and man was this perfect. Nicole was very attentive in getting me set up last minute when an air bnb cancelled on me the morning of the reservation. The location in Gillies Bay is on the eastern side of the bay, perched on the hillside over the water looking across the strait to Courtenay/Comox on Vancouver Island. The place was my kind of quiet, with nothing but the sound of the water on the rocky beach below (with a private pathway down from the cottage) and a few ducks quacking at the sunset. Less than a 5 minute walk down the road is the general store which has just about everything you could possibly need, including movie rentals, butcher's counter, and a surprising liquor selection. The cabin itself has all the modern comforts including a fully equipped kitchen, bathroom, and heating system, loads of seating in a spacious living room replete with games and entertainment. There are two bedrooms, one with a king, one with a queen, and a loft with two beds for the kiddies if you have any of those tagging along.
Highly, highly recommend the place and I will be checking in here first if I'm back on the sunshine coast any time soon. Thanks Nicole! -

(September 13, 2020, 4:15 pm)Comfortable cottage in a wonderful, peaceful location. Incredible views from the deck towards Vancouver Island. Close to Gillies Bay amenities and easy walking or cycling distance to Shelter Point Park. Bring your binoculars and whale watch right from the deck!

(July 17, 2020, 3:22 am)We had a fantastic stay on Texada Island. Our friends rented the Sand Dollar log cabin next stay so it was perfect for two families traveling together but had enough distance and space between the two places to relax and have some downtime. This is truly a hidden gem.

(October 3, 2019, 6:41 pm)This cabin was a wonderful escape. We were group of 6 friends and stayed for 2 nights and we wish to could have stayed longer. Everything was clean well labelled and organized and hosts were very kind and helpful. We really enjoyed amazing deck with BBQ and views of the ocean. This place is great for relax. Highly recommend!
