(February 7, 2022, 4:54 am)I am currently employed here but firmly believe that this service is worthy of the 5 star rating regardless. Those in need don't go hungry and not just in Nanaimo. We run a depot every week in Port Hardy as well and are looking to expand the service to include communities in between. I want to thank everyone who has/does donate food, drop empty beverage containers into our collection bins and the volunteers who donate their time and help for the cause. Possibly the best employer I've ever had and they genuinely care about the staff and volunteers. I love my job and working with like-minded people who want to help others. However, community support is what makes it all possible and I speak for us all when I say "Thank you!".

(December 31, 2020, 5:23 am)Nanaimo leads the country when it comes to foodbank services. Partnering with local grocery stores means more food for those needing help and less waste in our landfills. Selection is generally varied and wide, meat , produce dairy and bakery items are all represented in your typical package and quantity is sufficient to truly make a difference in day to day life for clients. Heartfelt gratitude to the many volunteers who make it happen several times a week in varied local sponsoring destinations, there is one in your neighborhood every week. Please help support this lifeline organization of you can, your dollar donation buys 5 bucks worth of food.

(October 26, 2019, 2:40 am)I had no idea how much is housed here and how many people they are helping. Some of my work mates and I volunteered to sort some of the food that we were donating and it was such a positive experience. We felt so inspired that we are now going to set up a monthly slot where we go volunteer again. The staff and other volunteers were so positive and welcoming, really felt appreciated.
