Good, but very to the point. Don’t expect the full third wave coffee experience from the cafe. You can buy all their beans here as it’s their roasting depot, but it’s clearly not meant to be a cafe first, the cafe is more of an added bonus to the factory. Pretty simple small clean interior, not much of an atmosphere going on. It feels like a coffee roaster, but not a cafe, if that makes sense. Staff were both nice and knowledgeable though. Not really the place you go to sit and enjoy coffee, no patio space outside either from what I see. This was written during the pandemic so perhaps this may change in the future, but it doesn’t look like a large space for seating in any case. One type of espresso bean and two batch brews. No pourover options etc. Granted, the caliber espresso, a medium roast, that they do serve here is excellent. They do sell coffee paraphernalia as well.

2nds best coffee in town...but then the difference between 1st 2nd and 3rd is so tiny that it doesn't matter. I enjoy timber train as much as the other 2. Good job to the folks behind timber train for consistently producing some of the finest in caffeine experiences. I am so glad I don't live in the neighborhood, I'd have such a coffee addiction.

Hands down the best coffee near Commercial Drive. I love coming here to get a coffee and one of their lemon-glazed berry scones (which are delicious). I haven't tried their other baked goods because I like the scones so much but my boyfriend has tried their custard croissant, vegan chocolate chip cookie and milk chocolate popcorn cookie, and he really enjoyed all of them. Basically, you can't go wrong, and everything is pretty affordable considering the quality. My only issue with this cafe is that they usually only have one person on bar and consequently, it can be pretty time consuming to wait in line when there are people ahead of you. Hopefully this is just covid protocol that will revert to normal once restrictions have loosened.

You gotta love the Depot by Timbertrain Coffee Roasters in the East Van Village. Tucked away on a side street away from busy city life. Nice roastery atmosphere. This place is one of my favorite coffee shop in the city. The baristas are extremely friendly. Great coffee flavour and fair prices! I love their espresso and latte (The “Caliber“ Coffee to be exact). Highly recommended.
