Still Here

I am a Recovery Coach based in Victoria BC. I took the Still Here Recovery Coach Training in October 2021 to enhance my skill level, network, assess the program and also because it was in-person which appealed to me.

My takeaway from the training is: 1. the curriculum is strong, has depth and is creative , 2. Kevin, Shelley and Casey are excellent facilitators — they kept the flow moving tactfully throughout the five days, 3. the in-person format was helpful in building rapport and trust with the other participants while practicing skills such as Motivational Interviewing in real-time, and 4. I have no hesitation to recommend this training.

*Full disclosure, when I first signed up for the training last year, I was then asked to present on the Business of Recovery Coaching to which I said yes to. It is now a mainstay of each training.

I collaborate with those I trust and Still Here is one of those partners that is doing excellent work in the field of Recovery Coaching.

Still Here is an amazing organization! I thoroughly enjoyed the weeklong recovery coach training course I took with them. I gained really valuable skills which I now put to use every day to support clients whose lives have been negatively affected by substance misuse. Kevin and Shelley are great people and knowledgeable instructors! I would recommend this organization to anyone.

This is possibly the best course that currently exists to link Canadian recovery coaches into the broader qualification that has been developed by American recovery coaches. Best points were their openness in accepting medication based recovery as a valid approach as well as their support for indigenous and LGBTQ people doing this course. A caution - This is an intensive five days with lots of interaction, but the Coaches are very competent and they ensure there is fun and laughter as well as deeper self discovery

I would highly recommend Still Here for anyone interested in expanding their knowledge of recovey or becoming a qualified recovery coach. The week long program put on was top notch and my skillset is much stronger as a result. Kevin and Shelley are amongst the best in the field and presented an intense, engaging, yet grounded approach to the subject matter. I look forward to a continued connection with Still Here in the future to fine tune my skills.
