(August 16, 2020, 7:25 pm)EDIT: I’m going to change my review to four stars simply because I wasn’t typo happy with the service but the staff member in question and the assistant manager reached out to me and explained why they do what they do (COVID protocols). I’ll attribute this to me being overly sensitive and will visit them again in the near future.
usually try to look for the good even in the bad but this one is going to be a bit hard. I’ll try to just comment on the beer but of course service makes a difference. Out of all the beers we tried the only one worth having was the porter. Full bodied and flavourful. As for the service the “hostess” made us wait by the whale sign off to the left of the restaurant, called our name and then took off as I was rushing to the front. When I arrived she said she called me and I wasn’t there. My response was “Well you told me to wait to the side I could barely hear you”. Second bad service experience was although our server was friendly and nice she clearly had some unconscious bias as both my partner and I are Asian and we although we were given a big table to ourselves the server dropped off the menu and said “This is the farthest I can go”. Makes sense with COVID. But I noticed when she started serving non-Asian customers in her area she had no problem leaning in to drop off the beers and food. I don’t know if I’m sensitive but I certainly didn’t appreciate the difference in level of treatment. With that said I still left 15% tip but will never come back because only one out of the six beers they had on top were good and basically the view of the harbour was nice. Do yourself a favour and go to @fuggleswarlock or @fourwindsbrewco in Richmond/Delta. At least they treat their customers with a shred of respect and not like lepers. Hope the owners take notice speak with their staff. -

(January 1, 2019, 5:40 am)Went here tonight, talked to one of the owners Lloyd, who walked me through all the different beers they had, loved all of them. Grabbed 2 growler fills and a sixer. Looks like they've got 4 taps and I think he said they rotate weekly. Will be going back often and can't wait to check out their taphouse in the village too.
