(July 13, 2020, 5:32 am)Last year I bought a velux skylight with the automatic rain sensor and had a builder who was familiar with the product install it for me. My roof has a steep pitch to it and unfortunately he installed the sensor on the bottom of the unit and when it was opened it was covered. (Much like an umbrella). Unfortunately when it rained, the unit didn’t self close.
I tried getting the builder to reposition the sensor to the top, but after a year of trying to get him back I gave up.
I was at the home show at bc place and saw the velux display and explained the situation with the rep. He told me he would send someone out.
No extra cost and the unit is working great with the sensor at the top of the unit.

Update: Installed sun tunnels. They did not turn out like the advertising or the picture on the boxes. They are a hallow type of light and do not spread widely out at all. The materials are also very cheaply made - I recommend to NOT purchase the cover for the sun tunnels - google it. In addition, the glass cover on the sunlight was broken when we opened the box. All round quite disappointing. I do not recommend this product if you are looking for reasonable, natural looking light coverage.
