(June 25, 2018, 5:54 pm)It is a park made from a property along the waterfront. All of these palaces should have been expropriated 50 years ago. The kleptos of past generations squandered this opportunity for their own personal gain. It is one of the greatest fumbles in civic history.

(April 26, 2018, 4:48 pm)Tucked between residences, Volunteer Park allows the serene views of English Bay to filter into the neighbourhood. Towering poplar and locust trees line a pathway that leads to the pebble beach below.
This site was once the location of Seagate Manor and two other smaller, private residences. They were all demolished in 1977 after being purchased through the Park Board's Land Acquisition Fund. The purchasing of waterfront property along Point Grey Road, to open it for public access, has long been an objective of the Park Board.
In 1985 the Park Board was petitioned by the Vancouver Volunteer Centre to name this area Volunteer Park in recognition of all city volunteers and as part of Vancouver's Centennial Celebrations. -

(February 4, 2018, 11:59 pm)A great place to stop by on a walk, especially on a sunny day. Great views of the North shore, bay, and VanCity. Main drawback is that it is a rocky beach with a lot of seaweed. As a result, it can be a bit dangerous to walk on due to slipping hazards, and there can sometimes be a strong seaweed smell which you may find unpleasant.
