Son started going about a year ago and the Sensei teaches him discipline, respect and patience. I would recommend this dojo to kids of any ages.
I started training as a young teenager at the Academy of martial Arts under Sensei Intveld in 1989. My mother and I started training together and were also able to obtain our 1st degree black belts together, a memory that will last a lifetime. Since then it has become of a way of life for me and my family. This school teaches so much more than martial arts - it teaches life skills. Respect, compassion and gratitude are the virtues that are instilled in the students on a daily basis. The Academy of Martial Arts has stood the test of time and since having children of my own they have started training there as well. I currently live in Langley but make the trip to the Academy Of Martial Arts because there is no other place I want my children to be. So whether you are looking to learn self defense or want a fun challenging way to get in better shape this is the school for you. Give it a try, you won’t be disappointed!
I have been attending the Academy of Martial Arts for almost ten years and it has been an incredible experience. It has kept me in in great shape to this point and it has taught me countless extremely valuable life lessons as a child, all while being thoroughly enjoyable and fun. The dojo also harbors a supportive and active community unlike that I have experienced before. It has been an amazing experience going there and I cannot recommend it enough.
My son has been attending the Academy for over 2 years now. The facility is clean, instructors not only skilled in their art, but passionate and patient in training and instructing the youth. They also have a strong sense of community and go beyond just the physical instruction by reinforcing the need for the students to be committed to school, family and community.
My two boys have been attending the Academy of Martial arts for the past 2 1/2 years and still love to go. We found out about the school from our neighbor whose husband is a member with the Dojo. This school has given my kids confidence and a great respect for others and their community. I highly recommend this school to anyone and everyone.
