  While the outside may say Hananoki, the inside signage is for "Seafood restaurant Ocean Story," which I think reflects the new menu a lot more accurately. With only about 8 or so sushi roll options, I would no longer call this a sushi restaurant (by lower mainland standards). Their focus now seems to be put a lot more on the fish and seafood aspects, with a lot less Japanese fare. Honestly, calling it a Japanese restaurant is a stretch.
  
  Food: The Agedashi tofu was really good, but the veggie Tempura was a bit burnt. The complimentary miso soup was one of the better ones I've had (very flavorful with lots of wakame and tofu, and nice and hot).
  
  Probably won't come back just because the menu no longer has as much on it that would draw me in; for those seafood-lovers I'm sure it would be a good match!

  Lunch combos tasted pretty good but it is a bit pricier.

  Nice place. Great menu, good service. The whole squid tasted a little burnt but the baby octopus was great. Sushi was really good. Beef skewer was tough. Good daily specials. Will go back.
