  The Raven Pub 2019 - Re-invented.
  
  I have to say, for those that know me, know that I am a bit of a pizza extremist. I really enjoy my pizza, to the point of spending 15 years trying to duplicate John’s pizzas in New York and I have told it is a pretty darn good New York style pizza.
  
  The point is that for me to find a decent pizza in the Lower Mainland is tough – Don’t get me wrong, there are a few places around, but when you live on the North Shore, your choices drop significantly when you don’t want to involve a bridge. Especially in the Deep Cove area. There are lots of places that claim to have a decent pizza but they are lacking.
  
  I have a couple of pizza places that are somewhat close, however my review today is on the NEW Raven. I say ‘new’ because the ownership changed approximately two months ago. I like the chef and I like his thought processes and respect his decisions. When the Raven re-opened after their renovations (the washrooms are MUCH better now!) when ownership changed, they decided to change up a couple of items on the menu, including the pizza. Personally, with all my experience, I thought this was a marvelous welcome, however due to a few individuals with very loud opinions; this idea was reverted back to the ‘old style’ pizza. My own opinion is that they were really onto something. Much better than the previous pizza, with WAY better cheese.
  
  They have two types of pizza; regular crust and thin crust. As of this past Friday the 8th, I have a wonderful opportunity to try the ‘thinner crust’, which was fantastic. Loaded with toppings, great flavour in the crust and a good sauce. And the staff is always amazing and friendly. I had also ordered some hot wings – which have also changed for the better from the previous ownership. They are less expensive, yet you get ‘more’. Because these are real chicken wings, with meat on them! They aren’t wings the size of a canary!
  
  I’ve talked to the new head chef (Terry) – A wonderful individual that knows his stuff and the staff are friendly and the new upgrades are welcomed. Well done Raven! I just wish you could have kept your original pizza you opened with. 
  
  And I literally just found out that they are now doing Sunday brunch! I'm looking forward to checking it out.

  Great service, awesome food. The whole group enjoyed ourselves. Even there chef came by and checked on us. Pretty classy. Our server was really friendly and knew how to take care of a large group.

  The new Raven ! I have to give them credit, they started off (in my opinion) rough but I have to say they redeemed themselves. I took my family there tonight and we love there new menu. Some of our favourites are back on there menu there chicken penne pasta is actually better then before! My kids loved there pizzas and my husband had there huge roast chicken special with a really flavorful potato. Were glad they changed and were looking forward to doing more family dinners there

  Second time there since new owners and this time I have to say we really enjoyed ourselves. We tried a bunch of there new menu items and wow they were great. I'm glad they added more of a selection. We had there Tuna salad, there chili chicken and several other items. There was 5 of us and everyone loved what they got. Were looking forward to going back next Friday and have some more great food and service.

  Had the greatest time there tonight. Great jazz entertainment, wonderful meal and the most surprising event was that the Chef came out and was asking all of the tables how there evening and meals were!! we've been going to the Raven for over 20 yrs and we've never seen that there. What a beautiful surprise to a fantastic evening. Thank you Raven pub
