  The night before Christmas
  
  Jean and I decided to enjoy our Christmas Eve together this year; just the two of us. I set out to find a nice secluded place for us to stay. I knew roughly where I would like to go, so a quick hotel search led me to the Sasquatch country, nestled in the foothills of mountains between Vancouver and Hope. I discovered just the kind of romantic place I thought would be lovely to stay in and enjoy a quiet evening. I checked with Jean if she feels the same way. She did. I made the call. A cheerful lady on the other end of the line gave me the good news: yes, we have a room for you. I made the reservation.
  
  The Sasquatch Crossing Eco Lodge is a real hidden gem. You really must experience it. This stunning, incredibly well maintained, an immaculately clean lodge is a way above from what we expected. This very spacious home is undoubtedly the pride and joy of Denny, the lady of the house, while Al competes for perfection with her on the outside.
  The “Eco” in the name is not just another catch-phrase. This spacious, ten thousand square feet villa is entirely off the grid, with its own hydro-power plant, powered by the rushing waters of a nearby creek. In the winter the power-plant's excess power heats the whole house, while in the summer Al redirects the surplus energy to heat the outdoor pool. Al eagerly explained all this to me with much apparent pride. Al also serves an incredible breakfast. We had smoked salmon eggs Benny from Al’s own smokehouse. They were – well – you just must come and taste them your self.
  
  Jean and I a truly hooked on this lovely lodge. We will be back in the summer to enjoy more stories about its history, tasty eats, nature walks on the “meditation trail” – yes, a meditation trail meandering under the lush green trees – dip in the pool, and if we’d be golfers, we’d walk down the road to the Sandpiper Golf Course to hit a few under par.
  
  I can’t rate this beautiful lodge by stars. It would be too impersonal and commercial, and it would deny justice to Denny and Al, watering down their dedication to this lovely home and their undivided attention to your comfort and well-being. Seriously, you must come and experience it your self.

  Beautiful location, lots of short trails to walk around and enjoy nature. The lodge itself was very cozy and had a cool, rugged atmosphere, like you were stepping back in time. Highly recommend
