Jim Greendyk Performance Horses

I’ve been taking lessons with Jim & his team since January and I couldn’t be more happy here! The barn is beautiful and everyone is so kind and helpful. Definitely learning from the best! I drive from downtown Van to Chilliwack & it’s worth it!

Jim is a very hardworking yet caring horse owner/trainer. He is a very dedicated and compassionate person. From experience of being able to have the opportunity to stay with him and his amazing family and be able to work with his horses was a “like no other” experience. I’ve never learned so much in the two weeks I was there in such a short time, it was so awesome! Riding with Jim, not only makes you a better rider but a better person overall. He really wants to see you succeed and is always there to help. Jim really knows how to get you out of your comfort zone but in a good way, in order to help you become stronger and more confident in your riding. Jim’s techniques just make so much sense, because he will always have a reason for something, and will always explain what he’s doing in order for you to understand deeply what Kind of results he’s looking for. Jim loves all his horses, and all their little quirks. He really knows how to adapt his techniques for the many different horses that he works with, as all horses can respond differently than others. I truly believe he has a gift because it’s like he works ”miracles.” If you choose Jim as your trainer you will never want to go back to someone else, as you will love him! He is so supportive and always knows how to have a good time while working no matter the situation. 🙂

Jim tailors his program to your horse and not your horse to his program. He is constantly learning and striving to become a better trainer so that he can bring out each horses true potential. I have personally sent two of my horses to him and both times my expectations (for lack of a better word) were far exceeded. I sent my 6 year old mare to Jim in 2019 for two months. My friend had sent her mare to him the previous year and I was shocked to see so much growth in her horse and how she changed so much for the better. I also experienced one of his clinics and it was so amazing to see how his training tools worked for all the horses , he really knows what he’s doing! My mare came home relaxed, quiet and I can actually trust her. He was able to complete many tasks I asked him to work on. She also came home fit and healthy, no weight loss. I have been to his barn a couple times and it’s very clean, horses are all well taken care of, knowledgeable friendly staff and Jim is a pleasure to visit with. He is upbeat, funny, caring, welcoming and puts his heart into his work. You won’t be disappointed!

This year I had a horse in training with Jim Greendyk Performance Horses. I found Jim to be professional and honest. I liked how he wanted you to set up goals that were to be achieved with your horse. He kept me up to date on my horses progress and or needs. My horse came home with a schedule and a game plan to keep us going for the season. His staff was exceptional and accommodating.
