(February 19, 2019, 6:48 am)I bought a large bundle of hardwood from Irvin Bahnmann quite a few years ago. It is all reclaimed lumber from his own tree-falling operations. His prices are very fair and he gave me decent discounts on short pieces, live edge, and tapered pieces. He did me quite a few favours that day by delivering it to my house and also spent a good deal of time with me pricing it all out. It was all nicely air-dried and the Birch was also exquisitely spalted. He was also very communicative over email and in person. I enjoyed hearing about some of his expeditions into clearcut slash to recover Pacific Yew, which would otherwise be wasted by lumber ops. Great business and very rewarding purchase.

My Dad has been a wood enthusiast since we moved out to BC back in 1995. He has experience as a woodworker and has worked for one of the most well-recognized environmental organizations, NCC. He cares about quality because he knows what woodworkers look for, and benefits the environment by salvaging beautiful wood that would otherwise go to waste.
