(April 15, 2019, 5:02 am)A well known historic Inn located at the famous Whiffin Spit natural break water in Sooke inlet.The Inn has about 26? rooms all with unique theme decor..these rooms some amazingly spacious are very pleasant with views of the beautiful Sooke inlet ..complete with fireplaces and King or Queen beds -many rooms have Jacuzzi tubs on deck or in room and steam showers..rooms are expensive but very tranquil..Inn has a well known fine dining room and also a casual dining room with additional bar seating..a two day stay at the Inn will cost about $700 Canadian.

(April 11, 2019, 1:04 am)Rooms were clean and well appointed, with great view of water and mtns. A quaint spot with casual elegance dining, staff was very friendly, service was very good. Small requests were met with enthusiasm and great suggestions were made after listening to what our tastes were. (wines brought up from cellar not on menu) by our waiter in the Copper Room restaurant! Breakfast was well done with fresh ingredients.

Cookies everyday were delicious.
Fish was large piece, breading was standard. -

(March 26, 2019, 2:17 pm)As a 20-something year old, I would describe the Sooke Harbour House experience as... Okay. I did have a nice meal and I did enjoy my time there but there were quite a few things that were missing the mark. My first comment would be is that the decor is very outdated. I think a definite face-lift is in order, I know they are going for a beachy-airy theme... but they need to bring it into the 21st century. It seriously reminded me of going to my grandparents. Secondly, the service. The service was fine. I personally don't like when the only thing your server does is take your order and then the support staff do the rest. It seems very impersonal and honestly like they aren't doing very much work for the tip you're leaving them and the support staff only sees a small percentage of. One of the support staff was on her first day and it was not great. She took our food to the wrong table twice, and then when I asked where the bathroom was she didn't know where it was. Something you would assume would have been gone over in orientation....? I just would expect more from somewhere that was "world class". Lastly, the food. It was okay. Was it $80 good? Absolutely not. The first course salad was very unimpressive. Lettuce and dressing on a plate. Still had some dirt remnants on the lettuce. Secondly I had the poached asparagus, it was fine, nothing to write home about. For the third course I had the steak, it was quite delicious, but considering the first two courses cost approx $5 to make, I don't think the steak made up for the rest of the $80 price tag. For the last course I had the souffle and it was to die for. Perfectly cooked and just the right amount of chocolate. The definite highlight of the meal.
Would I go back? Only if some insisted on it. Otherwise there are plenty of amazing restaurants in Victoria I would recommend first and save the 45 minute drive and mediocre meal.
