Nowhere is perfect. MT has its shortcomings, like anywhere else. But it also has it's strengths. One day I found my elderly mother in a hall in a wheelchair. She wasn't herself bc of some dementia. When she saw me she immediately blurted out that she needed to get away from here. Where, I asked. "I don't care," my mother exclaimed, "someplace better." I realized it would be a conversation better held privately. As I began to wheel her away another resident, who had been watching, put her hand on my arm and said, "There is no better place. Really." On that day I'm sure she was right.
