It's a very nice trail to walk all year around. It took us 1hr and 45 min. There are 3 bathrooms along the way. Two playgrounds.lots of grassy areas to play.picnic etc and a nature house.
Beautiful 10km trail. Can't beat the colours of Autumn there. Great place to swim in the summertime, too
Just west of Beaver Lake is a quiet area of the park, known as the Beaver Ponds. There are two small accessible ponds. The Elk Lake Multiuse Trail passes to the south-west of the larger pond; the park's Equestrian Center is just to the north. Both ponds are home to water birds (mostly in the wetter months) and many dragonflies, plus plants like waterlilies. The surrounding open meadows and fields have wildflowers and support birds year round. There is an easy walk around the larger pond, and the smaller one can be reached by walking through the adjacent fields. The whole area is generally quiet, with little traffic. It is an excellent place for bird watching, dragonfly spotting, and photography. Access is off Beaver Lake Road. There is some parking available along the Equestrian Center entrance road, or you can park in the Filter Beds parking lot and take the short walk along the Multiuse Trail, turning north on the Equestrian Center road to reach the ponds.
