(August 2, 2021, 12:49 am)We stayed in the lodge (the motel-type building up the hill) and it didn't look like much from the outside, but the room was beautifully updated, the bathroom was spacious and the bed was a dream. Check-in was easy and convenient, with keys in an envelope in a mailbox on the guest services building. Wifi is verrrryyy slow, but totally acceptable considering how rural it is. Plus, IMO there's no need to be on the internet in the gorgeous "wild Renfrew" wilderness and when Botanical Beach is so close!
Being a tea drinker, I really appreciated the kettle and the variety of tea in the room!
A couple things I would improve on would be the cleanliness of the floor and the amenities of the kitchenette. It would have been nice to have some paper towels, some more dishes, a strainer, utensils, pots/pans and a burner/hot plate. It seemed strange to us that there was a range hood but nothing to cook on. The bathroom also had a musty, sewage-y smell.
Overall, would stay here again! -

(May 10, 2021, 10:36 pm)We were impressed with the beautiful West coast landscaping ( a hummingbird Paradiso 🌺), above-and-beyond service, and the simple but fresh styling of the lodge rooms. The breakfast, lunch, and a praise-worthy decadent charcuterie-to-go box from the pub that we enjoyed on the beach were all world class. We felt so relaxed after our short stay. The pub and lodge staff were committed to COvid protocols while maintaining a friendly atmosphere during a busy time. 10/10 can't wait to visit again!
