Our stay here was absolutely fabulous and went beyond my expectations. We camped in the upper loop and the sites were large and private The $25.00 nightly fee includes showers located at the day use area in the lower loop.

Such a beautiful lake! Campground is very well maintained and the access to the water is well marked and easy. Love this lake!!!

Sproat Lake Provincial Park is a not so hidden gem in the Alberni Valley.

This park has it all (except for H2O and power hook ups)! The lake is the warmest on the island making for delightful swimming, boating, SUPing and fishing.
The shoreline is sandy and there is a soft sand beach beside the boat launch.
The day use and boat launch areas all have well appointed picnic tables and grassy fields for lounging.

Campers can enjoy staying in the Tenting or the Lower campground next to the lake or the Upper campground in the woods.
There are pit toilets, bear proof garbages and taps located throughout the park for your convenience.

Clean lake water and a very good lake for children to play. The parking lot is also wide. There are rock wool sculptures, so I hope you find them as well. The best place for swimming and paddling. It's about 2 hours and 40 minutes from Victoria, so it's a pity that I can't go often.

My touristy group of eight (8) adults came to Sproat Lake Park to see the petroglyphs. Carved into a vertical rock face by First Nation peoples long ago, the petroglyphs are just above the water line and visible from a nearby floating deck. It's an easy, short hike on safe, mostly level paths through some woods that run parallel above a shoreline, which borders a HUGE lake. And then a secure ramp lets you walk down to a floating, tethered platform deck, from where you can see and inspect the petroglyphs from a respectful distance. The various carvings look like stylized fish, waves, and other creatures you may have better luck identifying. Then turn around and look at the expansive lake, the occasional boater, and the gorgeous mountains in the distance. What a view - and definitely worth a visit!
