(May 16, 2021, 5:09 am)Great Escape Kayaks was super responsive and helpful through our entire purchasing experience. I was concerned about whether the kayak would fit in my car, and they sent me a picture of the kayak fitting in a comparable vehicle. A couple of days after I made a purchase, they had an accessories sale, and extended the sale to me as well. When the shipping company got a little confused with delivery, GEK followed up to check whether the kayak had been delivered! They're a great company that takes care of their customers.

(May 14, 2021, 5:19 pm)Overall a nice experience with the company and the product. First shakedown paddle today of my Mercury in solo configuration on the Bayfield river. Felt stable and tracked well in wind and current. Rudder system takes a bit of getting used too. Had to beach and adjust tension. Bit tricky knowing when it’s straight, so presume it’s just a matter. of learning when it feels right. Any tips on adjustments would be appreciated. Must admit assembly and disassembly a bit tricky. At 71 my fingers are not quite as strong as they used to be. Need to watch the videos again and practice. Next expedition will be with my partner in a tandem set up.
