What a great place to see the mountains! You have the option to use the gondola or an open-air chair to go up the mountain; I took the open-air chair both ways and felt safe. You’ll get the most spectacular views on the way up the mountain and on the way down, and that’s in addition to the main show at the top.

Breathtaking views and overall a great experience! I've been here multiple times, but this is the first time we caught the golden hour colours of the mountains reflecting on the calm lake. It was such a wonderful moment. Make sure to arrive early to get a praking spot! This is absolutely priceless!!!

It was a nice 15 minute Gondola ride. Coming back down was the best as you had the view of Lake Louise. Few trails to choose from once you go up and great views. Saw some elks on the way.

I am reviewing this place as a shuttle bus stop (Park & Ride) for Lakes Moraine & Louise. For the majority of people, you will need to first book your shuttle bus tickets on the Parks Canada’s Reservation Service website. You will then go to the parking lot (at your booked date & time - I would allow an additional 15-20 minutes to find a parking space) and then find the wooden ticket booth where they will scan your barcode (booking email) and issue you a card that has your name, date & party size. You will use this to board the bus you wish to (taking you to either lake). When you have finished visiting one lake, you can board a bus that takes you to the other one. Finally, you can board the bus back to the Park & Ride destination where you parked. Don't lose your card. If you take the earliest bus (6:30am), the toilets may not have opened up yet at the various stops. By the way, Lake Moraine is by far the more picturesque lake of the two!

On our recent trip to Lake Louise, we decided to take the Lake Louise Gondola ride. We were pleasantly surprised to find free return transport from Lake Louise village to the Gondola which was prompt and comfortable.

You enter via the Ski Lodge which in itself is a great visitor attraction. It has all the charm you would expect with a great café, visitor shop and friendly welcoming staff.

The ride to the top of the Gondola was comfortable with full panoramic views over the lakes and mountains but the best part of the view was the grizzly bear we spotted casually munching his was along the slopes.

At the top there is a great interpretive centre that has animal exhibits and information on the local area and history. There are several hiking trails at the top that aren't too strenuous and deliver top class views, there are also plenty of picnic areas to enjoy the pristine wilderness when you’re at the top.

Overall if you are visiting Lake Louise in summer, you should really give the gondola a visit.
