(September 4, 2023, 1:12 am)Very interesting roadside attraction. Be careful crossing the main road from the parking area. Some drivers insist on going faster than the posted. 30 to 40 km an hour on the winding mountain trail.
Informative kiosks give you the history and it's neat to see what remains of the original well. -

(July 3, 2023, 3:47 am)Neat little stopping point on the side of the road to Cameron Lake. There is a small parking lot on the other side of the road big enough for small campers, but not trucks with trailers.
The history contained on the boards is fascinating and Parks Canada did an excellent job with the signage. The scenery isn’t too bad either! -

(May 30, 2023, 11:36 pm)It is an interesting place to visit while in Waterton National Park. The trip up to the site is very picturesque, as is the site, alongside the river. An educational site about the beginnings of oil exploration in the province.

(August 23, 2022, 4:46 am)Quick stop on the way to Cameron Lake with a paved parking lot across the road. There are some information signs to read and a neat tower that makes the spot of the oil well.
