InterVarsity Pioneer Camp Lodge (Alberta)

My children have been attending Pioneer Camp since 2015. Every year they tell me how much fun they had, how awesome their counsellors were, and how they want to go back again... It is the highlight of their summer! Della, who organizes the applications and payments, is extremely warm and accommodating. As a single mom it is hard to manage summer activities, especially when there isn’t an abundance of money left over after the bills are paid. Pioneer Camp has helped me tremendously, by covering the fees, either partially or fully, and I cannot stress enough how much this has meant to us. I adore how they have a policy that economic barriers should not prevent children from attending their camps. Ruth, who manages the camps, is simply amazing. Not only is she an excellent director, she clearly has a huge heart for children. This is made abundantly clear when you arrive at camp, the staff and volunteers are there to make you feel welcome, and wanted, and that you can leave with the knowledge that your children will be well cared for. In all the years, and for children attending, I have never had a bad report, be it about the counsellors, accommodations, and most importantly the food! This is an excellent place to send your children for a week, a win all around, 100%!

Couldn't find a better place to spend time enjoying beautiful scenery, good food and wonderful staff.
Whether during the summer months as a kids camp where they do horse back riding, archery, canoeing, out trips, etc - to the winter months where snow shoeing, sleigh rides and everything else is just as fun.
I could go on and on but I would recommend this to any group looking for a retreat place or parents looking to send kids to camp!

I attended Pioneer Ranch Camp in the 70's, and I came back in 2010, and every year since, and it is just as wonderful an experience now as then. The location is stunning, a gentle valley with a view of the mountains. There are lovely quiet paths to walk, and a deck facing West to relax and admire the view. The food is wonderful, and the staff do all they can to accommodate everyone. As a place to relax, I couldn't think of anywhere better!

The staff were amazing. Ready and glad to help out our group with everything we wanted to do. Thanks for treating us so well. I would highly recommend this camp for any retreat or group booking.
