My daughters danced at One Step Ahead for 16 years and I have nothing but positive things to say about Miss Melinda and her studio. I had heard horror stories about the competitive, harsh world of dance but found none of that here. At One Step Ahead, there weren’t any auditions where only the best students were selected to compete and it was not only a recreational studio. Dance competitions were enjoyed by the entire class as a team and dance exams were an option as well. I watched both my children grow and thrive in their years at this studio, not to mention become beautiful, skilled dancers. The year-end recitals (which are always kept to a nice 1 ½ hour length) always brought tears to my eyes when I saw the feeling of community with dancers of all ages performing together at the wonderful finales. All in all, a fantastic place for your child!
I danced at One Step Ahead (OSA) for 7 years and it is truly an amazing studio. The owner, Miss Melinda, is an extremely competent and talented teacher. Furthermore, Melinda along with the other instructors are very caring and the studio is a warm and positive space for all students. At OSA you have the ability to experience and train in various styles of dance from ballet hip hop. There is also the opportunity to compete in dance competitions and furthermore take the Royal Academy of Dance exams. A wonderful, unforgettable experience is guaranteed here.
I danced with One Step Ahead Dance Studio for 20 years and have nothing but positive things to say about the owner, Melinda, and my experience as a student and teacher at the studio. Miss Melinda is a wonderful teacher and role model to her students. She has managed to find the perfect balance of challenging her students to be the best that they can be, but never letting that get in the way of having fun at dance class. The year end recital is a wonderful showcase and celebration of all the dancers at the studio. The love of dance is at the heart of what Miss Melinda has built at One Step Ahead.

I danced at One Step Ahead for almost 17 years and had nothing but positive experiences there. The studio has an amazing sense of community, the teachers and staff are friendly and encouraging and the small size of the studio allows for real bonds to form with the teachers and with other dancers at various levels and ages throughout the studio. Every dancer, regardless of their ability, is welcomed here. Dancers have the option to dance competitively, take sanctioned exams (such as RAD for ballet), participate in workshops and performances or simply dance at a recreational level. The bottom line is that at OSA, everyone is included and everyone is given equal opportunities to succeed. OSA has always been a very positive, supportive and caring environment, where the main goal has always been to foster and celebrate a love of dance. S/o to Miss Melinda for being the most supportive and caring one of all.
