XO Ice Cream & Waffles

The flavors burst! Hands down best expresso coffee ice cream ever! Waffles so light fluffy with perfect texture & taste! We have been 4 times since we discovered this gem couple weeks ago!!

I drive about 30 minutes to come get the sour cherry ice cream all the time. Hands down my favourite ice cream in all of Calgary (and trust me, I've tried every ice cream shop out here). Used to have really good experiences here, but have recently encountered the new staff who don't fill up the ice cream cones properly. I've held off on bringing it up, but now it has become a regular situation where they aren't filling the cones properly. They just put one single scoop on the top, instead of packing ice cream into the cone and actually rounding out the top of the scoop. Since the new staff was hired, it seems like I have to pay for 2 scoops to get the amount of ice cream that I used to originally get with one scoop, by the original staff. Doesn't seem worth it to drive 30 minutes anymore now that I'm not getting what I pay for. I've attached a picture that shows over half of the waffle cone remaining, with barely any ice cream in it.

I was dragged out by my girlfriend... and was actually pleasantly surprised. All the ice cream is made by ONE elderly lady, audited by one meticulous and friendly manager, and served with information and patience - usually when I sample everything, by the 4th one they are rolling their eyes, but they just kept smiling and telling me all the details about each. The branding and atmosphere makes it memorable. the flavour and quality of each product is why I keep going back.

This ice cream shop is a small boutique style ice cream by the scoop desert stop. The ice cream is very good and high quality. The customer service was fantastic and the waffle ice cream combo is absolutely delicious. I had the cookies and cream waffle combo which did not disappoint! It’s a small hole in the wall where you order to go or sit outside. If you have a sweet tooth I suggest you give it a try!
