  It is older hotel and price reflects that.
  They have renovated bathroom and it is awesome.

  I know hotels don't have to accept cash deposits, but the only reason I am giving them a 3. There are so many hotels that do and I was really looking forward to checking this one out. Like that there are so many restaraunts or fast food places close by. As well as great location to get to other amenities.

  We stayed at the Argyle Plaza Hotel on New Years Eve as we were seeing a show at Union Hall. I had looked for the "closest" accommodation and boy was I not disappointed! When the say it is less than a 1 minute walk they are correct as the Hotel is actually attached the venue (at the opposite end). Though the Hotel is a little dated and in a bit of a sketchy location we were pleasantly surprised with our stay. The lobby is quaint and check-in was quick and courteous. We stayed in a room with a king sized bed and the room itself was HUGE. Decor was dated except for the bathroom which had very obviously been renovated in the last few months and as absolutely gorgeous. Cleanliness wasn't amazing but all in all it was great value and we would absolutely stay there again if we were to see another show at Union Hall.

  This is a good hotel. I especially like the fact that it has a convenience store (where I bought an emergency toothpaste & toothbrush) & several (@ least 4) restaurants/eateries, all within the same compound. The staff are also helpful and nice. They gave my daughter & I very good & precise descriptions on how to use the Edmonton bus service. The slight issue for me was the price but then again if I'm being honest, its one of the most affordable compared to other hotels cos Edmonton & Canada as a whole is generally expensive. Lovely place, lovely staff.
