Shanghai Grill

Shanghai grill is one of my favorite Chinese restaurants in Edmonton right now! Their soup dumplings are some of the best that I’ve ever had. The owner makes them himself every day (such dedication!) The other food is really good too like the chicken soup, the green beans and the snow peas with garlic. My son also loves the green onion cake.

It’s a little out of the way compared to your other Chinese restaurants but definitely worth it (there’s plenty of parking too!)

The XLBs are pretty good here. Good authentic taste. Not as greasy as I've had in Edmonton or Vancouver. The variety in the menu is good. There are lots of things to choose from. Overall quality of the food is good, it's not amazing but still very good. A good choice for Edmonton. They have very good desserts as well. The hot and sour soup is also very good if you like the dark vinegar type taste.

If you are looking for fresh, handmade dumplings, go to Shanghai Grill. They have a large selection of dumplings, meat, seafood, soup dumplings and vegetarian dumplings. Their noodles are also really good and the cuisine is a nice change from mainstream Chinese food. If you are a vegetarian, they have a huge selection on their menu!
The staff are always accommodating and friendly.

Very pricey but good food they use the same spice in a few of their dishes that's quite Spicy. Shrimp plates were good but at 25 or more a plate...

A rather decent Chinese restaurant located on the West side of Edmonton. Given that there are limited Chinese restaurants to choose from on this side of this city.

Menu selection is decent, pricing is fair, food quality is authentic and restaurant interior decor is 4/5.

The only knock on this place is the speed of service.

Staff is friendly but they don't have many servers and they don't come by to check on you often. If you want your food to come in a timely manner you can't be passive, you have to be a little more aggressive in getting the servers attention. Otherwise, you might have to wait a good 35-45 mins for food to come.
