Altitude Taxidermy & Wildlife Artistry

I have spent most of hunting life looking for "the" bear, due to Albertas law it was infact a "trophy" hunt. Late oct/22 I found myself 60yrds from an absolutely beautiful mature color phase boar. He was "the one". I made a great shot that put him down fast.
I had looked around for pricing in southern Alberta as I didnt want to travel too far.
Altitude Taxidermy was the closest, and as I had come to find out is owned by a gentleman I had known for years Josh L. Of course I had to go see him, and decided to trust him with MY trophy.
I cant say enough, he had absolutely NAILED the look I was going for!! And I had also found my taxidermist! As long as I kill things to put on the wall, Josh will be the one I go to.

First time reaching out to Josh at altitude taxidermy and couldn’t of went any smoother. Josh was awesome to work/deal with, also providing great insight on presenting the best look for your mount. On top of the great customer service he also delivers an incredible amount of detail in the work that he does. I recently picked up my Bear rug and cleaned bear skull. They did an exceptional job on both and created a very realistic rug. Josh was one of the few taxidermist willing to take on the job of a Bear rug, as apparently they are a lot of work. I choose to trust Josh by looking through his gallery of work. I could see his skill in being able to make facial features (nose, mouth, eyes, etc...) look realistic.
The process took about 9 months (due to back logs within the industry) but the whole time Josh kept me in the loop for any developments with the job. He was very helpful with any questions I had and helped with picking my color scheme for the felt.
As a bonus he found my bullet while cleaning the hide and kept it for me as part of my display.
I will definitely be using Altitude Taxidermy for my next should mount.
