I have always wanted to learn how to kite surf, but always thought it was something that I would have to learn on vacation outside land locked Alberta. It just never happened. One day I googled “kite surfing alberta” and Ryan’s name popped up. I contacted him and got booked in for three lessons. The first lesson unfortunately the wind did not cooperate, but Ryan spent two hours with my brother and me going over all of the land training so that we would be ready for the water the next lesson and then told us that because the wind wasn’t good the first lesson did not count and so was free of charge! By the end of my first lesson in the water I could get up, by the end of the second lesson I could get up and rip, sometimes even up wind. By the end of the second lesson I was working on transitions (ie, turning from one direction to another). Ryan is an excellent instructor. He is patient, thorough, and skilled. I cannot say enough good things about him. Ryan is also the Alberta/Canada rep for some of the best kite gear on the market. I bought two kites, pump, bar and lines, harness and board from him and have been very pleased with the gear.

If you have been wanting to try kite surfing like me, don’t wait any longer. It is a blast!

I had a blast! Ryan was a great instructor, friendly and personable. The gear he used for lessons was top notch. He managed to get me flying a kite and up on the board in my first day. I highly recommend Kite Alberta to anyone interested in learning to Kiteboard.

I had a lovely experience with Ryan. He was warm, knowledgable & it felt like hanging out with a friend. He made sure I felt safe & gave me all the time he could around his other lessons. Progress will differ for everyone on lesson 1 due to water & wind levels, however, a great 1st experience means you'll be sure to try it again & get further!

Saw this advertised and thought it would be a fun way to shake the winter blues and was absolutely not disappointed. Ryan was amazing worked with me and my partner ahead of time to maximize our enjoyment on the day. Met us exactly when he said he would, and gave a thorough introduction and safety rundown allowing us to feel comfortable throughout the whole process. Got some sweet kiting in and a solid begging for how to move forward and improve. Before going in be warned after doing this you will want to keep going and if you are like me that means clearing out room in the gear closet, can't recommend enough.
